Have you ever wondered what is the best way to get high traffic domains. It’s not as expensive or difficult as you might think. Here are some tips to get you started.
1. Get a GoDaddy account. Domain names you can get from GoDaddy are cheap, but you can get some really fun and exciting names. I owned the domains getzooks.me and iamthegenie.com. These are for Getzooks and My Shopping Genie. Both domains provide decent traffic, but more importantly, they are interesting domains that people can easily access and remember.
2. Have you ever wondered how many people have domain names wrong. Think of names like Tahoo or Yshoo or another derivative of Yahoo. Or Google could be Hoogle, Goojle or something like that. You really have to use your imagination here, but typos pay the most.
Then go back to GoDaddy and try entering one of these names you found. If a domain name is taken from you, the system will give you a similar domain name. So if .com is used, you might have .net or .org.uk (if you’re British).
A good thing to do here is to consider the industry your website is in. If you’re auctioning online, think about eBay’s domain and how people understand mistakes. If you are a dating agency, consider how to get misspelled harmony or electronic harmony. If your site is a social network that displays videos, consider another possibility of using the term YouTube – or if it’s more of a viral social network, try the term Facebook.
3. Think of something trendy. I found a great blog yesterday called BlindSkunk. The people who own it are clearly experts in music composition and graphic animation. 4. Think about the obvious. If you are a dating agency, try datingagency.com or other similar sites. If you are a lawyer, try solicitor.net. If these aren’t available, try goodsolicitor or friendlysolicitor – even iamasolicitor.com. There are many options available.
These tips are helpful if you want more traffic. You can pick weird, obvious, or one or two typos, but sit down first. brainstorm. Find all the best ideas you can and decide for yourself what you like best, what you think will work best, and what will work best for your budget.
